+Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Advance purchase is highly recommended and cruises often sell out in advance. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
+Is there an age limit for these cruises?
While there is no age limit for the cruise, all attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Summer Music Series cruises are 21+.
+Is there parking near the dock?
Parking is available along Congress Street and Derby Street — both metered and un-metered spaces. The South Harbor Garage at 10 Congress Street charges 25¢/hr during the week or $20/day on weekends.
+What are the ages for a "Child" ticket?
We have reduced price tickets for children ages 4 to 12. Children ages 3 and younger are free with an accompanying Adult ticket, but please be sure to book a free infant ticket as all passengers must be accounted for.
+Can I buy food or drinks on board?
Absolutely! A full bar of drinks and fresh eats are a part of every cruise we take! Our full-service galleys offer freshly prepared burgers and dogs (including veggie burgers) daily. Our full bars specialize in tropical favorites, imported island beer, wine, New England classics, and any cocktail of your choice.
+Can I bring my own food or drinks on board?
You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks on board all of our cruises. You may not bring alcoholic drinks on board, however. Keep in mind we do have a full bar on board that accepts cash and credit cards.
+What should I wear?
Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Keep in mind that the temperature on the water can be significantly lower than on the land, so you may want to bring a sweater in the cooler months.
+Will I get seasick?
Both the Hannah Glover and Finback are steady vessels. Our cruises stay near to shore in the protected waters of Salem Sound. It is unlikely that you will feel much movement aboard the boat. If you often feel seasick, you may want to consider some light medication before beginning the trip.
+What are the drink prices like?
We operate a full bar accepting cash and credit cards. We may be running various specials at anytime, and items on this list are subject to change. Typically, our sodas & bottled water is $2, our 12oz beers are $5 and our 16oz beers are $6; our cocktails, wines, & champagnes/mimosas are $6; our top shelf premium cocktails, frozen drinks, & premium shots are $7-$8; our shooters are $5-$7; and our larger specialty cocktails are $10-$12.
+Which historical sights will I see during the trip?
We will discover landmarks, legends and wildlife as you cruise along the scenic coastlines of Salem, Marblehead, Beverly, Manchester and the Misery Islands. Also included are lighthouses, historic Naval Forts, ruins of the past, bird & sea life, local lobstering, famous estates, and million-dollar yachts. Let the invigorating sea air lighten your mood and refresh your senses to the enchanting beauty and landmarks of Salem Sound.
+What is the difference between the Lighthouse and Foliage Cruise and the Narrated Sightseeing Cruise?
The Lighthouse and Foliage Cruise is a half-hour longer and will take you to see one more lighthouse than the Narrated Sightseeing Cruise. Along the way you will get to see the same sights and learn the same interesting historical facts, but you will get one more surprise lighthouse feature with the Lighthouse and Foliage Cruise.
+What type of boat does this take place on?
Your cruise will take place on either the Finback or the Hannah Glover. The Finback is a single deck party boat licensed for up to 55 passengers. There is bench seating in the main part of the boat and benches around the vessel. The Hannah Glover is a double deck vessel, with chair seating on the bottom level and Adirondack chairs on the upper level. Both are very steady vessels.
+What do I need to bring?
You don't need much. Make sure to bring cash or credit cards for snacks, drinks, or souvenirs onboard, a valid ID (US or International drivers' licenses, passports, or other government issued id), and a camera if you'd like. Wear practical shoes since you are boarding a boat (no high heels), bring your best smile, maybe a hoodie if it is chilly, and you should be good to go!
+Do I need to tip the captain and yacht staff?
We do not require you to pay gratuity but these individuals are working for you. If you feel they have done a good job then please be kind and tip them just as you would your bartender or waiter. They work very hard to make sure you have a great experience.
+Is smoking permitted?
We have a designated smoking area at the stern (back) or the boat. Smoking is not allowed in our main cabin, on the top deck, or on the bow at the front of the boat.
+Is the boat wheelchair accessible?
Both the Hannah Glover and the Finback can accommodate manual wheelchairs, we’ll just need some advanced notice! Sorry, but at this time we cannot accommodate mechanical wheelchairs. Folding strollers are also welcome, just let us know when you check-in if you plan on bringing a stroller aboard.
+Can I stow my belongings somewhere during the cruise?
We do not have an area to 'check' people's belongings, but you may bring bags or coolers with you. Keep in mind, however, if the boat is full there may not be much room for larger items.
+Do you ever cancel cruises due to bad weather?
The cruise runs regardless of weather conditions. In the rare situation where we are forced to cancel the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule to another time (subject to availability) or given credit for a future event.
