Graduating from University of New Hampshire in the spring of 2005 with a Hospitality and Tourism Degree, he spent last summer closing up his eighth summer with Essex River Cruises & Charters of Essex, MA. For the second half of his time at ERCC, he consistently captained the 40ft "River Queen." After twenty-two years of structure and schooling it was time to get out there and see what the world had to offer.

In the fall of 2005 he planned on sailing down south to the Caribbean in search of fun in the sun and a little adventuring. When his plans fell through in November he decided this was a sure sign to follow his long contemplated plans of breaking off from ERCC and starting on his own.

By Christmas he decided that getting a "real job" wasn't in his vocabulary, and living the city life and climbing the company ladder just wasn't his thing. He'd been on the water since before he could walk and wasn't about to leave it. His love for being on the ocean and strong desire to be outdoors had him thinking outside the box. If he was not going to be able to head to the Caribbean he was going to bring the Caribbean to him. With this conclusion, Will started working on a business plan for what would soon become Mahi Mahi Cruises & Charters.
